How to Join or make a group To join in the groups either follow down the groups to your own area or street or otherwise join anywhere and ask for your area or street to be set up. If this is done for you then you can if you like set up your NW area and keep track of your members. More coming next year from the Boys in Blue but we don't know what its like yet. This way each group is its own boss (sort of), and you can link to other groups and share information all in the name of keeping the neighbourhood a safe and fun place. Even have your street fundays on your page (have a look at woodcote ) pics of their summer rain making ceremony (sometimes called a street party). Once you have your site up and running you can publish all kinds of information about your neighbourhood. The big thing though is the difference a local contact point is. The site becomes a focal point for specific information on the local streets, churches and schools.All joined togther 2008 Police your own streets Teams of Neighbourhood Watch members are to be asked to do the jobs previously done by the police. The Neighbourhood Watch members could patrol their own and adjacent areas. They could collect supporting information for police investigation. Details of these options (plans) are contained in a leaked memo sent to chief constables in the last few days. The suggestion was made by provincial Chief Constable of Hertfordshire, Frank Whiteley, he speaks for the Association of Chief Police Officers. When you become involved with Neighbourhood watch you start to committ some of your time every week or month. This can be as much as you like, but always you have to communicate and communication is the key. With this system you can create a list of all your watch membes and add their house and e-mail address. This saves a lot of your time and shoe leather dropping off the NW alerts, easier to devote time to more productive enterprises, such as Cricket. The answer is to get started. |
