This event is a joint IVC event with Birmingham IVC. Basically it's dormitory accommodation (or camping/camper vans) in a fantastic setting but with a basic (if not shabby) interior. Please contact me if you are interested in going. This event will also be placed on other IVCs event pages. The Castle provides Conference Centre/Field Study Centre accommodation suitable for organised groups of up to 100 young people or mixed aged family parties in an historic
building set in Parkland in a beautiful part of the South Tyne Valley within easy reach of the iconic central stretch of Hadrian’s Wall in the Northumberland National Park and close to the North Pennine AONB and the Pennine Way.

Accommodation

Kitchen with back kitchen and food store. It has an electric double Aga and an 8 ring calor gas cooker.

Games Room (known as the Gunroom) is by the main ground level entrance and can be adapted as a lounge, disco, or activity room. It has a large open fire.

The main interconnecting living rooms/conference rooms contain the Stone Hall; Blue Room (lounge); Dining room (seats 75); Ballroom and Lobby.

Dormitories/Family rooms - various bedrooms with 2,3,4,5,6,7,8 beds/bunks

Heating
The Blue room, Dining room and all the main Dormitories are centrally heated and the remaining rooms are heated by wall mounted electric convectors. There are open log fires in the Blue room, Stone Hall, Gunroom and Lobby. Groups to light and look after these fires – logs and coal are provided in the outbuildings. Groups should bring kindling and firelighters.

Cooking
Adequate cooking equipment, utensils, crockery and cutlery are provided but limited glasses.

Cleaning
Groups to supply towels, cleaning equipment and black bags and to leave the Castle as found. Please consult over recycling.

Bedding
Groups to bring their own bedding and/or sleeping bags. Some blankets and pillows can be provided.

Groups to bring towels, toilet rolls and soap etc.
